LAURA BOOZE is a teller of Jack Tales from the Appalachian region of Virginia. One of the most well known stories is Jack and the Bean Stalk. “I grew up in rural Virginia and fell in love with these stories about that scamp, Jack, who could be lazy, but through wit, tricks, and sometimes the help of a mysterious old man, always came out on top. I’ve acted in theater for fifteen years. Now I am branching out into storytelling… specializing in my beloved Jack. I use the dialect of the Appalachia area to add flavor to my tales.” Program length and chosen stories are suited to the make-up of my audience.
