On the second Sunday of every month the Boulder Library sponsors a free storytelling performance at 2 pm in the Canyon Theater, followed by a story sharing circle. For nine consecutive years the Boulder Library has sponsored an annual storytelling festival as either a one day event or several events over the season.
In 2009 the festival was held on April 11th, following the University of Colorado’s World Affairs Conference in Boulder. Check the library’s web site for the 2010 event dates.

CCFTB is devoted to encouraging reading and literacy in Colorado. They achieve this through educational programs and activities that nurture a love of books and reading. CCFTB is one of 50 state centers around the country, affiliated with the Library of Congress Center for the Book. They work to enhance Colorado’s dynamic
book community and bring together writers, readers, publishers, booksellers, librarians and learners. They carry out an extensive program of community activities through community and volunteers support.

STORY took center stage at New Horizons in Storytelling, the annual Rocky Mountain Storytelling Conference held in Denver April 23, 24 and 25, 2009. This year's conference, selected as the 2009 Year of the Region’s Western Regional event, explored and celebrated the many aspects of story with an expanded conference at a new location - Swallow Hill Music Association. The conference featured
three evening concerts and 40+ storytellers, performers and presenters, The Colorado conference, funded primarily from participant fees, was co-sponsored by Swallow Hill Music Assoc, Spellbinders and an NSN grant. In 2010 the conference will celebrate 35-years of storytelling!

Boulder – Hosted by Linda Batlin, Boulder Public Library, 1000 Canyon Street, every month on the second Sunday at 3:30 pm following a 2 pm solo storytelling performance in the auditorium.

October 2 and 3, 2009 will mark some changes to this 20-year-old festival. The Douglas County Libraries will embrace full sponsorship and present the RMSF as a Literacy Event. John Stansfield will remain on board as Artistic Director. Concerts and Workshops will be offered at Kirk Hall on the Douglas County Fairgrounds and at Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock.
